This May, the UNW Band and Orchestra will be taking their repertoire, some pieces of which you may have heard last semester, on a tour of Europe! Students will venture to Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, and an optional extension in Greece. While on the trip, the Band and Orchestra will perform at a variety of venues, visit historical sites, and enjoy everything the countries have to offer.
Divinity Anderson, a member of both band and orchestra, says, “I think it’s a great opportunity to take the trip to Europe and show people what our school has to offer. It’s a pretty cool outreach opportunity to witness.”

For some students, this tour is financially possible through the generosity of those who contribute to the fundraisers or the travel fund directly. The ensembles are thankful for the support they have already received.
“It’s incredible that people are willing to donate to our cause. On behalf of the music department, we’re all really grateful,” said Divinity.
Divinity also shared that they have been able to fundraise through direct donation at concerts and even had an event with Chick-fil-A. Thank you to Alex Wilson and Meg Myers from Chick-fil-A for orchestrating an amazing Community Cares event!
In the coming months, the UNW Band and Orchestra will have a couple more events, including a Cane’s fundraiser and a 2010s Throwback Dance, so be sure to keep an eye out for more information! If you have questions about upcoming fundraisers and concerts, or if you would like information on how to donate directly, please email slwahl@students.unwsp.edu. Alternatively, you can use the QR code below to contribute to the travel fund directly. Each and every gift supports the UNW Band and Orchestra, changing the lives of the students involved.
