We all face a battle within. The battle to feel connected and find community amidst raging self-doubt and harsh self-talk. Nashville singer-songwriter Carly Bannister says her single, Same Team, dives into the deep spiritual whirlpool of trying to figure things out in life- from within and with others.

Carly grew up in a very musical family and knew early in life that music is a business. But it can be rather intimidating when your dad is legendary producer Brown Bannister and your sister is Ellie Holcomb.
She told the Worktapes Podcast, the song came out of a desire to be more tender-hearted and compassionate toward herself and resist the inner voice that tears her down. She says the song is reminder to yourself that “your entire being is on the same team, working together, and wanting the same thing. You want wholeness, life, the light of Christ and you won’t get anywhere trying to beat yourself and others up”.
