Experience the joy and hope of the holiday season at Christmas at Northwestern! This year’s concert celebrates Christmas through familiar carols, festive music, and the debut of a world-premiere composition by faculty composer Joshua Bauder. Joshua’s setting of Isaiah 60:1-2 will open the show.

“Isaiah prophesies that God’s glory will rise up, and that as His light dawns on the nations. In the incarnation we see the fulfillment of that promise: Jesus is the Sun of Righteousness! My setting of this text depicts the sunrise by gradually moving the instruments and voices from low, dark registers, into high, triumphant ones.” – Joshua Bauder
The program will also feature music honoring the recent knighthood of renowned composer Sir John Rutter, performed by Northwestern’s talented music ensembles: The Northwestern Choir, UNW Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Amata Women’s Chorale, and Con Brio Men’s Chorus.
