Fun features

GLOW is “the great Minnesota holiday get-together.” It features a three-story ice palace, a bike-powered tree, Sky Glider rides, a tinsel tower and many more activities. And of course, it is lit up with over one million lights.

An event at the Fairgrounds is not complete without some fair food! They will have the State Fair Food Court open for attendees to enjoy a delicious treat. Also, warm up with some tasty hot chocolate while walking around on the chilly winter night.

Raving recommendation

The Minnesota Instagram account @MNCommunity visited GLOW. This page is all about posting the fun sites to see in Minnesota and has a following of 18,200. The account’s admin really enjoyed GLOW and claims that it is a “must-see.”

It’s your favorite place illuminated for your favorite time of the year.

Background on GLOW

In the summer of 2020, the Minnesota State Fair hosted a drive-thru food parade. It had 16 food vendors and was seen as a success. Randy Levy, an event promoter for the area, decided that GLOW would be a popular winter event to have in Minnesota. To follow COVID protocol, GLOW began as a drive-thru event in 2020. This year, they opted for an outdoor walking event. GLOW invited attendees to walk through lights galore and receive the holiday spirit.

GLOW is committed to having a community focus. They are supporting charities every night. In 2020, they were able to have $90,000 donated.

This year, look forward to KTIS hosting the Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge on the Sundays leading up to Christmas.

If finals are bumming you out, grab some friends and head over to GLOW for some holiday cheer! Take a break and enjoy the most wonderful time of the year.
