Every month alumni, faculty, & students receive a DotComm newsletter via email. These newsletters include information regarding the Department of Communication but also shares wonderful stories of what the Lord has done in the lives of students (past & current). This month, read what lessons alum Laticia Mattson has learned since graduating in 2015.

Latticia Mattson Media Production Major, Psychology Minor (’15)

After graduating, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue film production. I did freelance production work where I worked on a variety of TV shows and projects, such as “My Little Life” on TLC (a spin-off of “Little People, Big World”), America’s Got Talent, Lip Sync Battle, Project Runway Jr., and a few commercials (to name a few). I also worked full-time at Warner Bros. Television. I have since left California and moved back to Minnesota where I have been working in marketing for the past few years.

A few other notable TV shows I have worked on over the years:
  • Love is Blind
  • American Idol
  • Lakefront Bargain Hunt (HGTV)
  • Jeff Foxworthy/Larry the Cable Guy Netflix special
My advice to current students is to say yes to different opportunities that come your way and to do internships – you never know where these things will lead you!
