The radio workshop headed to Nashville on November 6th! Professor Seignious, Rachel Wilcox, Jessica Peterman, Connor Zgodava, Jaden Nybakken, Owen Van De Riet, and Natalie Van De Riet are attending the Christian Music Broadcasters’ (CMB) conference until November 10th. The conference is hosted in the K-Love center in Franklin, TN to learn more about the radio broadcasting industry and network with peers and professionals in the field. The conference will include group and breakout sessions, worship, and a small group challenge where teams will compete for a prize.

Natalie Van De Riet, a Communication Studies major, was excited to attend. Although she is not a media production student, through her involvement in the MEL she’s been exposed to a variety of media-production opportunities. She shared “the media/radio side of things has been intriguing me lately so I’m excited to learn more about the field and the opportunities that are present within it” as well as travel to a place she’s never traveled to before.

The trip is a great opportunity for UNW students to join a community of professionals and learn more about the fields they are passionate about. They will get to learn more about career opportunities and skills that will be useful in bringing their faith-driven passion for media into the world.
