Meet Maggie Noble! She is a senior English-Writing major with a Journalism minor. Maggie calls Falcon Heights, Minnesota her home.

When Maggie is not in class, she is busy being involved in various ways at The University of Northwestern (UNW). She is the Secretary/Historian of UNW’s chapter of Sigma Tau Delta (English Honors Society), and an editor for Inkstone (literary magazine).

Maggie is interested in many different careers once she graduates. These careers include copy editing, acquisitions editing at a publishing house, freelance editing/writing, and content writing or copywriting. The Content Marketing course offered at UNW has prepared her the most for graduation. This course allowed her to gain experience in creating and writing content for social media accounts.

Professor of Communication, Ann Sorenson, has made the biggest impact on Maggie’s time at The MEL.

“She has always been so kind to me, and I’ve learned so much from her classes. When I was taking Script Writing, I remember feeling really discouraged about the script I was writing, and she took the time to talk with me and help me untangle the plot.”

Maggie Noble 2021

One of the biggest lessons Maggie has learned during her time at The MEL is to take advantage of the opportunities that come your way! She has been busy working as a Digital Media Assistant at Northwestern Media. This position requires her to create social media content, write articles for their website, and take photos/videos at various events. One of the most important lessons she has learned from this position is to not be afraid to collaborate and ask questions.

We are so excited to see the big things Maggie is going to do after graduation!!
