The MEL played some rather swell tunes this past Fall and Fieldlilly’s Sunrise tops our most played song list! This sister-duo out of Devon, England deliver rich, lush vocals that combine with swirling orchestral splashes that just explode out of your speakers. Close your eyes and the anthem will display amazing memories of your favorite sunrises (or sunsets, for that matter. It’s essentially an audible Lamentation 3:21-23- bringing hope to mind and offering new morning mercies. It is sure to warm any chilly Minnesota dawn, which I suppose is just every one of them these days. Ha.
Forest Frank’s band Surfaces reworked the 2003 Los Lonely Boys hit “How Far is Heaven” at number two and with a little lyric twist still presents a very catchy vibe that adds a delightful pep to any part of your day. Madison Ryan Ward’s hip-hop trap Amen easily offers one of the best musical versions ever of the Lord’s Prayer (It’s a an absolute toss-up with another killer version from New Zealand’s The Fuzzy Robes.) Other artists on the Fall 2024 Top Played Songs include, Joseph, Indie Tribe, Russ Mohr, The Arcadian Wild, Ben Laine, Thunderstorm Artis and Colony House.
