Madison Ryann Ward is both an athlete and a singer. Madison attends the University of Oklahoma. Madison has been a part of the volleyball team at the University of Oklahoma for the past four years, and her coach and teammates hold a very special place in her heart. Her demonstration of a strong work ethic and athletic ability has allowed her to achieve success in various sports, including basketball, golf, and track and field. She has earned All-State honors and was named Oklahoma Female Athlete of the Year. Madison is grateful for her God-given talents and abilities, and she seeks to use her gifts to bring honor and glory to Christ.

When not practicing or training for volleyball, Madison loves singing and writing songs. When she was asked to sing the national anthem at the men’s NCAA Final Four in Houston, she was ecstatic! Her passion for music has continuously grown. She never took voice lessons, was never involved in her school’s choir, and never participated in voice competitions. Since she was a busy athlete, her schedule didn’t allow for music classes or lessons. Despite her heavy involvement in sports during her childhood, she has always loved singing. Her mother played the piano at church and became her inspiration.

Madison says, “As far as I’m concerned, the power of music is unlike anything in this world. It is something that can bring people together and is such an important part of our lives.” She continues, “I feel in my heart that music and singing are a big part of what I am supposed to do with my life. To have the opportunity to share it is very exciting and humbling.”

Madison’s song “Prodigal” is an uplifting song that describes the beauty of God’s love.

Your love is meeting me

Where I need it most

I don’t need to hide

Truth for the keeping

Your word, You mean it

My God, You’ve never lied

From “Prodigal” by Madison Ryann Ward

“Prodigal” reminds us of God’s unchanging promises. His overwhelming love pursues us, even when we feel scared or afraid. We must seek Him and trust in Him. Our God is so good, and we know that He means what He says in His Word.

My only purpose (In this)

Life that I’m living (That I’m living)

Know and to love You more (You more)

You are my heartbeat (My heartbeat)

Lifeblood within me (Within me)

Home here within Your arms

From “Prodigal” by Madison Ryann Ward

Christ is our true home. He sees our struggles, and He wants us to cling to Him. When the world around us seems unbearable, we can rest in the promise of God’s sovereignty. He sustains our heartbeat and every breath we take, and we can find true peace and rest in Him.
