This past week, campus was buzzing with Valentine’s Day spirit as students took part in a variety of fun and festive events. Whether you were looking for a chance to connect with others or simply enjoy some friendly competition, there was something for everyone. If you missed the festivities, here’s a recap of the highlights from an unforgettable Valentine’s week on campus!
Xi Xi Valentine’s Party: A Night of Songs and Crafts
On Wednesday, February 12, the Communications Xi Xi Chapter hosted a heartwarming Valentine’s party in the MEL lobby. From 7 to 9 p.m., students gathered to enjoy an evening of love song karaoke, card-making, and cookie decorating. It was a perfect opportunity to spread the love and creativity in a fun, relaxed atmosphere!
Speed Dating: Conversations and Connections
The popular speed dating event, hosted by Northwestern’s business department, took place on Thursday, February 13, in Riley 2300. Check-ins began at 7:30 p.m. and the event started at 8 p.m. sharp. With a $3 entrance fee for pre-registered attendees and a $4 fee for walk-ins, students dressed to impress and engaged in exciting, fast-paced conversations. The evening was full of laughter, treats, and even some prizes for the best connections made!
CORE’s Cupid’s Chowdown: A Foodie Face-Off
On Friday, February 14, the STUD lobby was the site of CORE’s annual Cupid’s Chowdown. From 7 to 9 p.m., students took part in a food-eating challenge, competing for the title of Cupid’s ultimate champion. With prizes for the most competitive (and hungry!) participants, it was a thrilling showdown that brought out plenty of laughter and friendly rivalry.
