Every new school year brings new things: new classes, new faces, and new challenges. As this semester starts to wind up, here are five things to remember no matter how crazy it gets.
- You’ll probably create something this year that you’re not proud of yet. That’s okay. Make it anyway. Chances are somewhere in there you’ll also create something you love!
- Mistakes aren’t wasted! The failed shot, the idea that flopped, the essay you scrapped at midnight… none of it is wasted. Every time you try something, even when it fails, it’s still part of your journey of getting better. And remember, now is your chance to take big risks… because what’s the worst that could happen?
- It can look like everyone else has it all figured out… trust me, they don’t. Everyone is still learning every day, and hopefully that doesn’t end after you graduate!
- Slow down and enjoy. The person studying next to you at 1:00 a.m. is going to be your friend for a long time. So, take time to enjoy every moment and every little detour along the way.
- You’re not here by accident. I know it sounds cliché, but it’s true. We can trust that God has something exciting for each of us this year, and as long as we are willing to continue taking the next step, He’s going to lead us somewhere big!
That’s it. Now go make something awesome!
