Top Song on the MEL: “Dance with Everybody” by Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors with The National Parks

“Dance with Everybody” is a fun, upbeat song that reminds us of living life in unity with each other. The inspiration for this song began when Drew Holcomb, along with many other musicians at the time, was not able to perform shows due to the COVID-19 pandemic. What Drew missed most about concerts and live audiences was knowing that everyone was in it together. Singing in front of an audience full of strangers made Drew acknowledge that he didn’t know everyone’s story. Within only a few hours, he wrote “Dance with Everybody.”

By the end of his performance, Drew hoped that “everybody who came through that door” would no longer feel like a stranger. Instead of accepting barriers, Drew desired for his listeners to feel acknowledged and loved, no matter what their past looked like or what they were currently facing.

“Dance with Everybody” reveals the power of not allowing differences to divide us. Instead, we can find joy in simply living in community with one another. As we interact with those around us this week, let’s remember the beauty in acknowledging that we are all unique individuals designed in the image of God and created on purpose and for a purpose.
