Chris Greenwood, who goes by the stage name Manafest, lost his father to suicide when he was five years old. A few years later, he accepted Christ at a summer camp, and it was at that camp he met his future wife. At fourteen years old, Chris discovered his interest in skateboarding and hoped to make it his career. One accident drastically changed the course of his life when he discovered he was no longer able to skateboard. During that time, God told him to begin writing music. Soon, he started his career as a Christian artist. Manafest’s “Teardrops” reminds us to hold onto our faith in Christ and trust in Him.

We can find true rest in Christ as He is the ultimate satisfaction for our souls. Despite inevitable circumstances and unexpected situations, our God is faithful.
While we will experience heartache in this life, we can rest in the hope that one day, we will live in eternity with our Savior. On that day, God assures us that there will be no tears, pain, or suffering.
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:4).
This deeply emotional song touches the hearts of its listeners as it addresses the pain that we face in this life. Whenever we feel overwhelmed or uncertain of the future, we can trust that Christ is in control and sustaining us, day by day. Following Jesus may not always be easy, but it will always be worth it.
