February 14 is a special day. No, not because of Valentine’s day but because CORE hosted its first Cupid’s Chow Down event! CORE and fellow students gathered in the Stud lobby on February 14 at the Cupid’s Chow Down from 7-9 p.m.
Yerly Rothwell (Accounting, ‘27), the CORE Event Director behind this awesome event said,
“I hope people will not only come but participate and have fun, it will be a night where it doesn’t have to be just a couples thing but single people can come and bring friends and have something fun to do.“
The food-filled-fun event gifted winners with prizes galore! It was a time of friendship and joy amongst singles and couples at UNW. Students indulged in a delectable pie eating contest, hotdog eating contest, and were challenged with timed competitions, and more!
CORE hopes to continue to coordinate community-centered events that brings unity even on days like Valentine’s day that could stir loneliness on campus. We can’t wait to eat our hearts out again next year at Cupid’s Chow Down!
