Did you know that nearly 80% of the University of Northwestern student body commutes?

Northwestern treats its commuters very well, and they even have their own lounge located in the Billy Graham Commons. There are many opportunities for commuter students that provide a wonderful experience.

“The commuter lounge in the Billy is great. I had a break in between my classes, and I didn’t know what to do with my time. Thankfully I found the commuter lounge and it makes the time go by so quickly,”  Khristian S, a junior at UNW.

Commuter Life constantly host events – not only its students but for the entire student body. On Friday, September 29, Commuter Life held its first-ever annual apple-picking event at the Afton Apple Orchard in Hastings. This year, Commuter Life and CORE worked together once more on a Trunk or Treat event complete with a costume contest, trunks full of candy and more.

Mercy H, a commuter at Northwestern, speaks highly of commuter life, “I enjoy being a part of the commuter community because we are a big family. We study together, eat together, and hang out together in the Commuter Lounge. Commuter Life provides a safe space for commuters to belong.”

If you’re a commuter student, please stop by the lounge and connect with us! We’d like to get to know you.
