While life is beautiful in so many ways, it’s also full of disappointments. Despite our hopes and dreams, sometimes the day-to-day struggles seem like more than we can handle. Naomi Raine’s “Not Ready” is an honest confession of admitting our struggles and bringing them to Christ.
Naomi went through a depression, and during that time, she didn’t realize how much she was struggling until a friend came alongside her. Naomi felt lost and was afraid to admit that she didn’t know what to do. Through that experience, Naomi realized that God desired for her to seek Him. In the middle of the moment, it’s hard to wait. It’s difficult to see the purpose in the struggle, but we must remember that Christ is working in and through us amid our struggles.
This song serves as a reminder that it’s okay to ask for help. While it might not always look the same for each person, we will face struggles as believers. When we’re overwhelmed, anxious, or fearful, we don’t need to pretend like we have it all together. Instead, we need to pursue Christ with our whole hearts.
“Not Ready” reminds us that we are not alone. Christ’s strength will sustain us, even through the darkest of days. He is more than enough.
